RSC flimsy done

This is fun to have a finish at the end of the year after playing with scraps! This quilt is being made for my first grandbaby that's due in March. I'm so excited! Also, planning on making a big star quilt for his big sister and those blocks have been started in the RSC as well.

16 patch flimsy

The blocks are together! A very old WIP! I need to shop my stash for some backing fabric and it will be headed to the quilter. This is the one that will be a retirement gift.

T-shirt quilt finish

I made this for my hubby out of mostly his Jimmy Buffett t-shirts. He picked out the parrot fabric quite a while ago. There wasn't enough for the top and bottom but I think it turned out OK anyway.

I tried a different stitch on the binding. I think it turned out super cute. The variegated thread was one I found at my mom's house and it worked great. Unfortunately, my Mom passed away last night just after I finished sewing this and thinking about her.

Green

I finally made it to green and then the month changed so, I'm still behind!

Pineapple progress

One finished today. I still have 9 others in the works.

UFO revisited

I had about half of these blocks finished years ago. An opportunity for a retirement gift is what brought it back out. I finished the rest of the blocks today. Testing it out to see if i need another row. i don't want to add a border.

RSC blue

Finished both of these blocks in light and dark. I had to work with the scraps nearby. I'm not completely happy with the light one but it will be fine.

I also managed to get another round on a few pineapple blocks. An older project called to me so, I dug it out. I'm trying to get it finished up for a retirement gift. Hoping to post pics of it soon since I don't have much time to get it done.

I still need to cut a few more squares for the other light blue star block. I think I can get a few out of the scraps from churn dash blocks. I got together with my new quilting group on monday and I finished 13 churn dash blocks and got another round on my pineapple blocks.

This is the last of the purple churn dash blocks that i had ready to sew.

I'm still enjoying the process of making them. Still no idea what my plan is for them in the end though.

Not sure what month I'm on for the rainbow scrap challenge but, I'm still using scraps!

I was really hoping to get the 4th of this block done today but, the clock was against me.

A Finish!

I'm so excited to have this finished. It's been waiting in a tote for years to be finished but, I had no idea how to quilt it. So when I met my new quilty friend recently and found out she does custom quilting...I took her up on it! And she did a beautiful job!

Today was my first sewing day with them and they are definitely my kind of people! I'm really looking forward to many more sewing days with them. This is what I got done in between the talking...

So a few cute little nine patches got added to the stack of finished blocks. I'm still collecting ideas on what to do with them.

RSC August block #4

 

Happy little churn dash!  I haven't made one in a few months.  It feels good to get back at it.  I've got a few more cut in hopes of getting them put together this week.

We didn't have regular green in the challenge yet this year and I still needed these blocks so I snuck them in too.
