Izzy's college quilt finished

This was a free pattern from moda.  The quilt was planned for my friend's daughter who just went off to college.  She requested pale yellow, white and navy.  I think it turned out perfect for her.

Also, managed to squeak in some texty prints which make me happy working on it.

Aussie quilt finish

My husband and I went to the upper peninsula for our 30th anniversary.   Also happened to be the all michigan shop hop time.  I took him to breweries and I went to quilt shops.  Found lots of Australian fabrics that I liked.  This is the result...

I fussy cut the boomerangs for the center and side borders.

I also fussy cut the binding.

The leftover pieces went on the back which I think turned out kind of cool too!  So happy with this quilt.

Peacock quilt finish

The striking colors are what got me with this quilt.  I love the turquoise in it!  I believe it was a swirly girls pattern.

Giant flying geese quilt finished

Mostly Tim Holtz fabrics were used for this quilt.  It's a little more modern look than I usually do.  I just love some of his texty prints and needed to use them in a way to enjoy the fabric.

I was also able to use another texty print for the backing.  Love it!

My girlfriend Doreen Hammond freemotion quilted it for me.

RSC Churn dash finish

I enjoyed following along with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  This is one of the quilts I was able to make with the blocks I finished.

The backing was a wide back that was waiting for just the right quilt!

Michigan quilt finish

This is a gift for my friend's son.  I love that I used up a lot of blue and yellow scraps.

Backing and border were licensed fabrics.

It was a quick and easy finish.

Featherweight bag

I faked this bag for my new-to-me featherweight machine.  I was heading to a class to learn how to clean and oil the machine so I needed a way to carry it...cutely.

And it fits perfectly.

Giant flowers quilt

This quilt started with a trip to Kentucky.  Two of my girlfriend's and I went to go to the quilt museum and to visit one of the girl's friends who happens to own a quilt shop.  I bought a ton of fabric from her!

I loved one of the fabrics for a backing but nothing ever went with it.  So, I had to do a reverse (for me) quilt idea.

First, I took pictures of a few of the flowers.

Second, I had a friend blow it up on her computer and print it for me.

I used a whole bunch of scraps for the background blocks and added a skinny strip of color for a pop.  The colors I chose to match with the backing fabric.

Third, I made the flower applique.

Then, the backing fabric wasn't quite big enough.  So I added the solid fabrics to match the front pops to make it big enough.

My girlfriend did the custom quilting for me.  She did the center of the flowers just the way I wanted so they went with the print on the backing.

I sooo love this quilt.  And, it made me feel a little artistic when I have been doing a lot of production type of blocks lately.

The binding was the perfect fabric!  The colors were just right and the stripe was adorable!  I couldn't have asked for anything better!

Bonus***I used most of the ugly neutral strips and I love how they worked!
