RSC wonky star quilt finish

 This is for my granddaughter who is getting a new little brother.  He's getting a star quilt so she should too.  I used fabric in the alternating block that has a kind of I spy look to it.  I hope she likes it.  She'll get to open hers when momma opens the one for baby at the shower.

Backing is a cute little girl print.

 Binding is the same as baby brothers.

This was started as an art quilt that I wanted to put beads n bobbles on.  But, after so many years and a grand baby on the way...I decided to make it into a baby quilt that can double as a wall hanging if the kids want.

 

I had my friend Doreen quilt beads hanging down.  Turned out so cute!

Had leftover blocks from the quilt I'm making for my granddaughter so thought I would whip up a doll quilt to kinda match.

This is the final block for RSC February 2023.  Done early.  Now I have some free time to work on some other projects.

Pink is the color for my center diagonals.   4 a month....check.

I will be cutting this into 3 or 4 rows but will wait until the end so I can use it the best way possible.  Sure felt good to use a bunch of scrap strips!  My bucket is still full of pink though.

Also got a few other strips out of it.  The small ones will be going into a different quilt project.

RSC February block #4

 This is a roll over from last year.  Need more of them.

Using leftover pieces of spools.  Mostly pinkish.  These will go into my X quilt on the diagonal.

 Still using this block as my leaders and enders.  Trying to use mostly the color of the month as I go along.

They still need to be trimmed.

I like to start out with making a big dent in my scrap bin.  These strip rows go very fast.  It feels really good to be using up some of those scraps that have been around a while.  Makes me think I have room to buy more new fabric!   Yay!  Going on a quilt shop road trip this weekend!
