January RSC block #3

Made from 2 1/2 inch squares and a 4 1/2 for the center.

Red, white and blue quilt finish

This quilt was on my list for a lot of years.  I saw the pattern in a magazine and bought the fabric and then it sat.  It feels so good to get it done!

The backing was a quick wide back.

January RSC block #2

I'm so excited about using up my scraps!  I can't wait to find out what color next month will be.

These are just parts that will go into a block later.

January RSC block #1

I didn't see the rainbow scrap challenge until February so I'm trying to do a couple red blocks for the January challenge to catch up.

What's wrong with this picture?

My youngest son moved back home.  And this happened when he wanted to use the closet.  I don't see anything wrong with it but my husband thinks the couch behind it should be used as seating.  Weird!?!

I really quite like having the fabric right where I can see it and get to it easily.  Still trying to come up with a good plan on where it's going to live.  I'm hoping to use it up before I have to decide LOL!

Patriotic quilt finish

I needed a project to try out improv stars and this was it.  I had scraps left over from another quilt.  Colorwise I would do it different if I had to do it over.  The stars don't pop as much as I'd like.  It was definitely a quick and easy quilt though.

And I used some happy texty print on the back.  Also, used up a batik that I bought for something else and changed my mind...it was a hard blue to match and this project was perfect for it.  So glad to have used it and got it out of my stash.

RSC (1/2) block #8

Pieces and parts but still the color challenge of the month.  These will be trimmed triangles on the ends with additional fabric on the sides to make the finished blocks but they're started.

RSC block #7

I'm kind of excited about this.  It's my first scrap slab.  It took a little getting use to but I think it's gonna be fun to do.  The Missing U is the name of the pattern in the book Sunday Morning Quilts.  Busting through my scraps very quickly!

RSC block #6

This is my leader ender block.  Tiny tiny 9 patch...

No decision on what they will become but they're super cute to look at.

RSC block #5

This block has been quick and easy and so cute.  I think I might make a whole quilt with these.

RSC block #4

I've been seeing some cool quilts with x or plus blocks and decided to make a few of my own.  Not sure what the end result will be.

RSC block #3

I thought I would make more of these but so far...nope.

Maybe they'll go into some sort of sampler.

RSC block #2

Another star but a little different.  Wonky points to make it easier.  The block is smaller than the first one.  At this point I'm thinking they will be for two different quilts but I have plenty of time to think about it.

RSC block

I've been checking out some blogs lately and got inspired to join in the fun of a rainbow scrap challenge.  I missed last month which was red.  I might try to sneak a few in later.  This month is teal/turquoise and that happens to be my favorite!  I had plenty of scraps and they make me happy.  This is the first block that I've made.

Tiny tiny triangles finish

These triangles are about the size of my fingernail which isn't very big.  I love that this quilt isn't meant to be perfect.

Here's a pic for size...

I have a wire hanger that is shaped like a sewing machine that I plan to hang this cutie on.

Finished yesterday.

WIP pineapple blocks

It took me a long time to get back into sewing after my mad rush of a year.  These pineapple blocks motivated me.

They make quite a mess and take a long time to put together.  I can only do a few at a time and then I have to put it away for a while.  I'm loving them as much as I thought I would though!

Brooklyn Heights quilt finish

I believe this pattern was in a magazine.

It's not my typical colors but I love how crisp it seems.

I think I'm finally caught up on all my quilt pictures.  Now on to newer projects.

"Snowflake" quilt finish

I loved this fabric with the silver sparkle.  I thought it might look like snowflakes if I did a stack n whack.  Not exactly but it's still pretty.

Rainbow quilt finish

This quilt was made for my son.  It's extra long.  It was a fun quilt to make.

Scraps on the back.

Finished July 2018

(Since then, he has loved and used it constantly.   The white is no longer white.  But he doesn't care, he still loves it.)

Pillow recycle...twice

I was trying to throw out a pillowcase I made that had seen better days but I still liked the fabric and there were some spots that weren't too bad.  So I cut it up and made a sham...

But it sat there and never got a pillow.  Until recently...I was going through another stack of pillowcases for sheets we no longer have.  I found another that would go alright with this one and so I cut up both and added a border so it would fit hubby's pillow for the living room.

And the edge I used as a fold over on the back.  Worked out ok.  And he likes it.

In other news...

I got 2 new rolling carts.  By Tim Holtz.  I love them!  And I filled them fast!

Christmas table runners finished

I bought these kits along with the pattern from a quilt shop that is no longer in business.   The pattern was wrong so I had to fudge it and that's why the center piece is different.

Charm quilt finish

We had a 4th of july charm exchange at a quilt guild meeting.

This ended up being more work than I planned for a simple charm quilt...lol.  I do like how it turned out though.  I ended up with a lot of leftovers so, you may see something later.

I like the texty print I used on the back...makes me happy!

Low volume quilt finish

Sunday Morning quilt pattern.  I love it!  I used all of my light texty fabrics that I've been collecting.

I had 2 battings put in this so it would be nice and warm.  A big flower quilting pattern polished it off.

Mini pineapple finish

I made this for my sister.  She has a happy sewing room to put it in.

I had trouble getting the pic to have the right color.

Postage stamp blocks quilt finish

I was hoping these blocks would read more blue/green...I did checkerboard with those colors.  I should have done lights or whites in-between  but I won a boat load of 2 1/2 inch squares and wanted to use them up.

I super love the border!

The backing grunge fabric makes me happy too!

This is for my queen size bed.
